More Things You Didn't Want To Know...

Lindsey: I am a twenty-something. I don't participate in playgroups because I find the women pretentious. I absolutely cannot beat my son, Calvin at Candy Land; He always gets the damned ice cream cone and I always get the gingerbread man. I love to cook and bake all kinds of food, but I have a penchant for ethnic foods and chocolate. I'm finding it hard to be a social mother in a town where I have nothing in common with 99% of the inhabitants. We intend to be a homeschooling family for a variety of reasons, one of which being the terrible education system in Louisiana (seriously, 50th on the list. Fail). I am a breastfeeding mother but was a formula mom with my first (not entirely by choice) - I tend not to judge on these issues. Do what works for you and yours. I'll just let you know now that I'm going to curse once in awhile. I hope you enjoy my anecdotes as much as I do.

Alex: A thirty-something (!). Full-time law student and a full-time husband and father. I applaud his efforts at both. He also puts in his time as a stand-up comedian, although that time is far more hard to find these days. He co-produces a weekly open mic show here in Lafayette. You can watch it online here. It starts roughly at 10 p.m. central. It is a new show, but quite successful already. He finished a PhD in Math in 2008 and started law in 2009....I am hoping that this is the end of the education road. He loves to play video games in his free time and is in the top two thousand in the world for some game (unfortunately, I am not quite as excited about this news as he is). He loves to eat all types of food - looks like we're a match made in food heaven.

Calvin: 3 years old as of this post. Enjoys cars, trains, motorcycles, helicopters and cooking with Mom. He tries, futilely, to stop his brother from touching any of his toys. He is one of the most hilarious people I know. He has a taste for...everything. As we speak, he is attempting to fit an entire bag of marshmallows in his mouth.

Connor: 7 months old as of this post. Enjoys...well, boobs. And food. And attempting to thwart his brother's attempts to stop him from touching his toys. He has a taste for puzzle pieces and Mom's homemade applesauce.
